A Wind Advisory has been issued for Monroe County, Alabama from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, according to the National Weather service.
Strong southerly winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph will develop over the region on Wednesday in advance of an approaching cold front. This may down some dead or poorly rooted trees and large limbs, according to Adams. These strong gusty winds can pose a hazard for drivers of high profile vehicles.
There is a slight chance of severe thunderstorms in our area Wednesday and Wednesday night as the cold front passes through. These thunderstorms can produce damaging winds, frequent lightening, large hail, and occasional long track tornadoes.
The current timing from the National Weather Service in Mobile has the most severe weather crossing Monroe County in the early evening hours until after midnight. This timing is subject to change.
