 MONTGOMERY, AL -The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is opening an investigation after an injury involving a Hyundai supplier sent a man to a Montgomery hospital.
A driver for Hansen Automotive Transport suffered a head laceration and had to be taken to Baptist South Hospital following an incident while loading a new Hyundai Sonata onto a car carrier.
The victim, unidentified, was a trainee who was learning how to load and unload a new Sonata Turbo sedan from a car carrier.
The driver accidentally drove the sedan off the upper level of the carrier. The sedan flipped over and landed on the roof.
Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama spokesman Robert Burns said the incident happened at the Glovis America vehicle processing center truck loading line.
Glovis America processes vehicles for shipment throughout the United States for Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama.
OSHA said it would look at both Hansen and Glovis America for any possible violation of workplace standards.
