Updyke hit with state charges in AU tree poisoning case

OPELIKA, AL 
The man accused of poisoning two historic oak trees on the campus of Auburn University is now facing six total criminal charges.
Attorney Glennon Threatt, Jr, attorney for accused Toomer's Corner tree poisoner Harvey Updyke, Jr. says he is sifting through six state charges against his client and future federal charges could come in a sealed indictment.
He was already facing felony Criminal Mischief 1st Degree felony charges at a local level.
Threatt is going through the counts at this moment.
It appears state prosecutors are charging Updyke with 2 counts of Criminal Mischief, 2 counts of Desecration and 2 counts of destruction of property.
Both trees on Toomer's Corner, considered century-old landmarks, are starting to show serious signs of poisoning
