Baldwin County officials identify body of Atmore man

police report
BALDWIN COUNTY, Alabama -- Baldwin County sheriff’s investigators have identified the body of a man found floating in the Tensaw River on Saturday.
The victim is 51-year-old Eural L. Ward of Atmore, in Escambia County, Ala.
Ward was positively identified by his fingerprints with assistance from the Mobile Police Department’s Automatic Fingerprints Identification System and his family members’ identification of his tattoos and jewelry, according to a news release issued today by Capt. Stephen Arthur with the Sheriff’s Office.
Final autopsy results are pending but preliminary indications show no signs of foul play, according to Arthur.
Investigators followed up on a vehicle towed from a bridge on Interstate 65, which ultimately led to his identification, according to Arthur. On April 27, Alabama State Troopers towed Ward’s vehicle from a bridge on northbound I-65 near the 27 mile marker between Little River and the Tensaw River. The vehicle had been taken to a wrecking yard in Bay Minette.
