MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — The Alabama governor has declared a "day of prayer" in Alabama for victims of Wednesday's storms.
Gov. Robert Bentley on Friday asked Alabama residents to pray for storm victims on Sunday. The governor also ordered that flags be flown at half staff in Alabama from Friday afternoon until 8 a.m. Monday in remembrance of the storm victims.
In a statement, Bentley asked for prayer for those killed in the storm, their families and for those suffering because of damage caused by the storms.
The governor's proclamation calls the storms that killed more than 200 people in Alabama "an unprecedented disaster."
