HOMEWOOD, Alabama --- Courtney Porter, an Auburn University graduate from Clay, was crowned Miss Alabama 2011 Saturday night.
Porter, 24, who competed as Miss Leeds Area, will represent Alabama in the Miss America pageant in Las Vegas in January.
Porter beat 47 other contestants vying for the crown. They competed in four days of interviews, talent performances, swimsuit, evening-wear and on-stage questions.
Others in the top five were Miss Tennessee Valley KeLeigh Edwards, first runner-up; Miss Point Mallard Haley Bagwell, second runner-up; Miss Center Point Chandler Champion, third runner-up; and Miss Smiths Station Jordan Dailey, fourth runner-up.
Others in the top 10 were Miss Central Alabama Rebecca Whitlow, Miss Auburn University Emilee Williams, Miss Trussville Area Anna Laura Bryan, Miss Hoover Brittany Finley and Miss University of Alabama Valerie Stewart.
