MONTGOMERY — A state representative who helped the FBI in its investigation of Statehouse corruption is returning to the witness stand in Montgomery.
State Rep. Barry Mask of Wetumpka is scheduled to testify for a third day Tuesday. Attorneys say they expect to wrap up his testimony in a few hours.
Mask testified Monday that he called indicted casino owner Milton McGregor in a phone call taped by the FBI and McGregor offered him significant contributions if he supported pro-gambling legislation.
Defense attorneys said Mask brought up money first to McGregor. Mask said outside the federal courthouse that defense attorneys were doing their job by attacking his testimony.
