Man Survives Being Hit By Train

Police say the man was homeless and lying on the tracks when he was struck.

PENSACOLA, Florida - The accident happened around 11:30 Thursday night at the track near East 9 Mile and 10 Mile roads. According to the Escambia County Florida Sheriff's Office, the CSX train's conductor noticed the man on the track and immediately put the train into a emergency stop and activated the warning horn.

Deputies say the man was severely injured, but has not released his name. The sheriff's office says that lying or sitting on railroad tracks is very dangerous and also illegal. Anyone caught doing so could be arrested for trespassing.
