Large Brush Fire In South Mobile County

Smoke from a large fire in South Mobile County can be seen for miles.

THEODORE, Alabama - Firefighters are trying to get a handle on a large brush fire in South Mobile County.

A command post has been set up at Mobile Commerce Park as fire officials dispatch firefighters to intercept the fire before it reaches any structures.

So far, there are no reports of any homes or businesses burning, but firefighters are having a hard time keeping up with the fast-moving fires.

Extremely dry conditions, low humidity and record high temperatures are only making things worse.

Law officers have cordoned off several roads in the area as a precaution.
