HOKES BLUFF, AL (AP) -
Administrators at Hokes Bluff Elementary School in Etowah County are examining their policies after a kindergartner's statement that appeared in a yearbook led to a complaint.
Principal Charles Gardner says a third-grade student told his teacher a comment he saw in the yearbook made him uncomfortable.
The yearbook includes kindergarten students' answers to the question "When I grow up, I want to be a/an ...," One student wrote "American soldier to beat up all those BAD MUSLIMS!"
Students were asked to bring their books back to have the sentence covered.
The school sold 326 yearbooks at $25 each. Gardner estimated about 95 percent were brought back.
Gardner says the third-grader's mother said she would discuss the issue with her son, and the kindergartner's mother also came to the schoo
