CALVERT, AL - ThyssenKrupp Steel USA and ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA announced today an upcoming jobs fair on Saturday, May 7, 2011. The jobs fair will be held from 9:00 am-2:00 pm at the ThyssenKrupp Training Center at 4 Second Street in Calvert, Alabama. (The Training Center can be accessed by taking the main entrance to the site off Highway 43 onto 1 ThyssenKrupp Drive and proceeding to Second Street according to site signage.)
The jobs fair is seeking candidates with stainless or steel experience for industrial maintenance and operations positions at the companies‘ new state-of-the-art stainless and carbon steel processing facilities currently in operation and under construction in north Mobile County. Base wages start at $18.46-$29.18/hour with a potential for production incentive. Stainless or steel experience is required along with a copy of each candidates‘ current resume.
Electrical maintenance experience is highly preferred. Any candidates who have applied before, can stop by to update their application. All applicants must apply online at the Alabama Industrial Development Program (AIDT) website at www.jobs.aidt.edu/steel and can do so at any time prior to or after the jobs fair. The ThyssenKrupp Training Center will have a computer lab on hand to assist applicants that do not have ready access to a computer or the intenet, but it is advised for those who already have access to do so remotely before or afterwards to avoid waiting times.
Full time Team Members on site stand at 1895 at the end of April. Nearing full operations this summer, ThyssenKrupp Steel USA employs 1351 of the 1800 full time Team Members they eventually expect to have on board. ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA employs 392 of the 900 Team Members they expect to employ full time and are ramping up as they pursue a fast track schedule for constructing and operating the Stainless Melt Shop that will come online before the end of 2012. The site also currently employs 152 full time contract positions.
