Mike Blakely is trading in one set of orange and blue for another.
The four-star running back recruit, a former Florida signee, is enrolled at Auburn and will be eligible to play starting in the 2012 season.
The three sites that cover Auburn recruiting -- AuburnUndercover.com, AuburnSports.com and Inside the Auburn Tigers -- reported the news first.
The 5-foot-9, 194-pound back out of Manatee High in Bradenton, Fla., originally signed with Florida and missed all of spring practice after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder.
He decided to transfer on May 10.
“Everyone at Florida has been very supportive of me in my time here and I'm thankful for the experience that I had, but I've made a decision to continue my college football career somewhere else,'' Blakely said in a statement at the time.
Due to NCAA rules, he'll have to sit out next season because of his transfer to another FBS school, but he'll have four years of eligibility starting in 2012.
Blakely is a four-star recruit according to Rivals.com, Scout.com and 247Sports.com and a consensus top-10 running back for the Class of 2011.
Rivals ranks him sixth in the nation and Scout and 247 each rank him 10th.
Auburn recruited Blakely hard before he committed to Florida last October.
He’ll join a backfield already populated by sophomore Mike Dyer, junior Onterio McCalebb and incoming freshmen Tre Mason and Quan Bray.
